Automatic ventilation grid gluing cell

The ventilation grids were glued by hand, with the operator using a hotmelt dispensing gun. Due to manual dispensing, the amount of glue used varied from product to product and the position of the glue was not always correct. Automatic glue dispensing has several advantages. Reduction of waste, reduction of glue quantity, improvement of cycle time. After discussions with the customer, we built the equipment, using the gluing machine they were using.

The machine works in the following way: the operator inserts the piece, then the machine takes a step, glues and stops. The operator starts the machine, the gluing process starts, the machine stops, the operator stops, the gluing process starts, the machine stops, the operator starts, the gluing process starts, the machine stops, the gluing process starts. The operator is protected from various hazards by a light curtain. If the safety circuit is broken, the machine stops immediately. The right-hand chain track is adjustable from the front, so that size changes can be easily handled.
