Armature gluing cell

The customer asked for our help to manufacture a new product. The task was lampshade gluing and assembly, where both gluing and mounting were carried out by a robot. PUR Hot-melt was used for the bonding.

The elements that sealed the two ends of the armature were fed into the robotic space on two infeed conveyors. Here, the robot took hold of it, held it under the glue head, where it applied the glue to the shaped profile and finally placed it in the correct position on the drill.

The robotic gripper was designed to pick up two sealing elements at the same time. The middle element was moved on a chained (adjustable width) step track to the gluing position, where it was lifted out and the two ends fixed so that the locking element could be placed exactly in position.

The operator is protected from the hazardous area by a light curtain and a fence.
